What is this blog?

This is an experimental blog called Scat Roach. The original purpose of this blog was to test the concept of "roachcore" and see if the concept could become a successful aesthetic.

What is "Roachcore"?
Roachcore is the aesthetic of imagery that would appeal to cockroaches. Such imagery may be cockroaches themselves, unsanitary conditions, abandoned buildings, rotten or strange foods, messy and cluttered houses, empty places, wet dark places, other pest undesirable type bugs, grunge, or other gross strange things.

What other things does this blog post?
Other aesthetics include weirdcore, liminal spaces, dreamcore, webcore, and other nostalgia imagery.

What was the inspiration for this content?
As soon as I saw liminal spaces I was instantly inspired. For awhile I've been recording my dreams, and finding aesthetics that reminded me of them inspired me. I was also inspired by a multitude of content that I found strange and interesting. I wanted to create a blog that imagery recreated the feeling some strange video games and other content give me. An uncomfortable feeling. The feeling of a fabricated reality, or perhaps a different reality. Perhaps I want to trigger derealization within myself, or get a certain high.

What content do you recommend that's similar to this blog?
Bad Mojo, Crashbox, LSD Dream Emulator, WORLDS, Silent Hill, Jack Stauber, other weird content. If you know any obscure video games or shows that his blog reminds you of, please let me know.

What content do you post?
I post liminal space like images I find online. Or strange sterile type imagery of bugs, food, or other things. I edit a lot of images to fit the aesthetic of this blog. I also edit together gifs of Crashbox and Jack Stauber, sometimes video games. I also sometimes post videos of commercials or test alerts. Some images are pictures I've taken. If you see pictures of a black cat posted by me, that my cat, I love her. If you see pictures of clowns reblogged by a blog called "clownreviews" that's my clown blog, and most likely the clowns are owned by me.

What do you NOT post?
I do not post gore or body horror. The most gore or body horror I'll post are pictures of raw meat, horror movie gifs, or cartoon like monster horror. I do not post "traumacore," this is not a traumacore blog. I may reblog posts that are tagged traumacore by the OP, but I am not reblogging them for those purposes.

What do you tag?
I do not tag much. I will tag "flashing" for those with epilepsy. I will tag text posts and asks as "not core." If I do ever post gore or body horror, I'll tag it. I do NOT tag unreality, paranoia inducing content, bugs, or unsanitary.

You wake up on a filthy orange tiled floor to a narrow tiled hallway. Is this a bathroom? What kind of bathroom is this? No time questions, you feel as though you need to move, and you need to move now. Two paths lie before you. Which do you take?

You feel a sucking sensation below you, so intense that you pass out. Once again you awaken. Your hair and clothes are soaking wet and as you look up you see that you are now in some type of dark pool room, a working water slide in front of you. Is that how you got here? Or does lead somewhere else. You feel yourself being pulled towards the water slide. You find yourself wishing to climb up it, though you know such should be impossible.

Going down the stairs you look down, seeing that you're entering a dark dining room. No one seems to be home.

The living room is much brighter. But something about this place feels wrong. You can't really put your finger on it. The walls? The ceiling? You're stuck somewhere between discomfort and comfort, because something about this place feels... familiar. Maybe it's best to leave? But wait... There's something on the ground.

Is this really a backyard? It's so dark, it's hard to tell. There's a roof and a couch, but there's also a blacony and sliding doors. Why is everything so blurry? There's something on the ground in front of you.

You run away from the dark water slide room, fearing its siren song. As you dash from one entryway to the next, you find yourself in yellow tinted lit hallway. You seem to be within in a hotel. You feel extremely uncomfortable here, something about the smell of the carpet.
